Last week, Corpay One attended the premier show for accountants and bookkeepers: Scaling New Heights. It was our first year attending the event, and we’re already looking forward to 2022!
While several conferences have had to cancel, reschedule, or go virtual, we applaud Joe Woodard, Founder and CEO of Woodard, for bringing a community of over 800 accounting and bookkeeping professionals to Fort Worth, Texas for Scaling New Heights 2021.
The theme of the conference this year was “unstoppable” and we speak for everyone when we say you could feel the unstoppable power in the room.
The accounting and bookkeeping professions have faced daunting challenges including technology disruptions, stifling workloads, and enterprise-level competitors. It’s undeniable that these professionals have faced unprecedented difficulties over the past few years.
This year’s Scaling New Heights was an opportunity to be involved in the highest quality education and networking opportunities, alongside a large selection of accounting products and services, all under one roof. The Corpay One team was thrilled to be a part of the event and we’re excited to share a little bit about what we did at #SNH21!
Our very own Bob Lewis, SVP of Accountant Channel Development, took the main stage at Scaling New Heights this year to talk about his journey in the accounting industry, the trends that are driving innovation now and why he has joined Corpay One.
From beginning with his experience at Intuit launching QuickBooks Online Edition to accountants nearly 20 years ago, spending the last 10 years in the Accounts Payable/Spend Management segment, and building multiple accounting programs on the way to eventually ending up here at Corpay One, Bob shared some of his experiences and views on why the next wave of productivity and growth is building from the convergence of capabilities in connected cloud app platforms..
So, what is a connected cloud app platform?
An app platform, and specifically a cloud app platform, is a group of solutions in a category that come together to support a functional area within an application.
At Corpay One, this means building an app platform that supports accounts payable, expense reimbursements, credit cards, flexible payments and more, so any way money is going out of a company can be facilitated and controlled, tracked and managed through one platform.
At the end of this great interview, Bob was asked, why join Corpay One after his expertise could land him anywhere in the industry? After a few days of great work at the booth, our team wanted a chance to have some fun and connect with the Scaling New Heights attendees. Joined by Jirav, ADP, and Fishbowl, we hosted an after-party on Tuesday night at TopGolf.

It truly was a Texas-size event: over 200 attendees joined us and had a chance to socialize and get to know our teams. We might have to work on our swing (just a little bit) before the next event, but we had a wonderful evening connecting with all of the attendees!
With COVID-19 policies ever-changing alongside an unprecedented year of helping clients navigate emergency loans and grants, an extremely long tax season, and helping businesses stay afloat, the accounting industry has proven they are truly unstoppable.
