Helping Accounting Firms Simplify and Organize Accountant-Client Relationships

By
Lise Lin

Roger is used by hundreds of accounting firms and thousands of their clients. We're introducing a feature enhancement designed to make working together even easier.

Note: In March, 2021, Roger officially changed its name to Corpay One. Our features and functionality have not changed. To learn more and understand the change, read more.

Client-Accountant relationships are one of trust, security and education. Roger is making it easier for partners to connect them.

Accounting firms are busy. Between drumming up new business, tackling tax season and managing day-to-day client work, there isn't a lot of time to waste on slow internal processes.

We heard from our accounting partners that they were looking for a simpler way to assign staff members to clients.

Roger's product team has been working to enhance this process and deliver a solution that takes the client-accountant linking process down to just seconds.

Accounting partners can now create Groups of staff members, as well as nested Subgroups within those Groups. Team members at the firm are then assigned to their clients or Groups.

This makes it easier and more secure for partners to grant access to client accounts.

What's new in the Partner dashboard

Instead of granting access to clients, partners can add their staff members and assign them to Groups.

You can have Groups and then nested Subgroups underneath those groups to further refine the clients that staff can be assigned to.

There is also a new naming convention and new permission levels for partner roles.

The following roles have been updated in Roger.

Administrator

  • Can assign any staff member to any Group. They have the highest permission level to assign staff members to clients.
  • They can add/remove other managers, staff and viewers.
  • They can delete anything on the Partner dashboard.

Manager

  • Can add/remove partner staff members.
  • Can add clients.
  • Can add Subgroups under each Group they belong to.

Staff Member

  • Adding new staff gives you the ability to create clients, but you can opt out of that. Viewers will become Staff, but will not have the ability to create clients. Want the viewer to be able to access the client.
  • Can access the clients that belong to the Group combination they are part of.
  • Can create clients.

Restricted Staff

  • These staff members can only view the clients they have access to and cannot create new clients.

We're here to help

As this feature is rolled out to all Partner accounts, you can work hand-in-hand with a member of our Onboarding team to ensure your Groups are properly set-up and you can migrate successfully from the former process.

If you have questions at all, please reach out to us at support@corpayone.com - we're here to help.
